Starbucks Italian Roast
Starbucks Italian Roast
I stopped by Starbucks the other day to grab a quick coffee, and browsed the coffee while I waited for it. Somehow I never noticed the packaging for the Italian Roast before. I know it’s been around for awhile, but catch up is the funnest game.

Wisconsin’s Rustic Roads

Posted on November 4th, 2007

The Department of Transportation for the state of Wisconsin has a Map of Wisconsin’s Rustic Roads for the motorcycle and scooter enthusiast. The Legislature established the Rustic Roads program in 1973 to help
preserve Wisconsin’s scenic, lightly traveled country roads. The state
now has 103 marked Rustic Roads covering over 572 miles in 54 counties. This sounds like the perfect getaway, however winter is closing in, so it may have to wait for next year.

The folks at Scooter Swag are featuring the design studio Plexipixel and their amazing swag to be had at AmeriVespa in Seattle this past summer. They report that the above image, and others, are for sale on their website for a mere $25 with just $3.75 shipping. These are pretty cool designs. Being a web designer by trade, I appreciate good design as much as a good motor scooter.

Although this page is in Japanese, you can watch a cool movie of Honda’s new Forza motor scooter with a liquid-cooled 4-stroke 4-valve OHC single engine. Just the latest Honda motor scooter being showcased at the The 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007 in the Honda Booth.

Aprilia Scarabeo 500

Wired has a nice article on some freeway legal motor scooters. The scooter above is the
Aprilia Scarabeo 500, priced at $6,300. According to Wired, $6,300, Aprilla trimmed pounds and added power, it’s a lean, mean, street-cruising machine, “more butch than a Vespa and with more cred than a Honda.” The article has great info and beautiful scooter photos.

Beautiful ‘66 Lambretta Li 150 3 on Ebay. According to the owner it’s been modified and rebuilt, masterfully rebuilt by a Lambretta/Vespa expert, and it looks great.  It has original style-look with new White and Blue paint and stainless steel trim. And it “really jams around town as well… turns heads on every ride.” I bet, nice bike.

Scooter Club

Posted on October 13th, 2007

A nice article on the Baldwin County Scooter Club. They are a new scooter club in Southern Alabama. Let’s hope more of these clubs pop up around the USA. From the article:

Scooters start at approximately $2,500 and up and there are about 400 different models. Foley resident Lawson Chapman said saving money on gas is a plus, as his scooter gets approximately 80 miles to the gallon. Chapman has been hitting the roads on his Zuma scooter since last summer. He bought the scooter as a toy, but he has found he has more fun riding the scooter than the motorcycle.

More fun than his motorcycle and getting 80 mpg. Not bad.

The Three Wheel Piaggio MP3

Piaggio Mp3 Motor Scooter

In a revolutionary move, Piaggio is releasing the MP3 motor scooter with two front wheels. According to Fullboost, the Piaggio MP3 provides better safety, road grip and stability levels than a two wheel scooter, also better braking. Especially in bad driving conditions such as rain and gravel roads. An electro-hydraulic tilt-locking system means no kick stand. And the system will operate at any angle so you don’t need to find a level parking area.

According to Piaggio’s Brand Manager Simon Gloyne, “Not since Enrico Piaggio introduced Vespa to the world in 1946 have we seen such a revolution in transport for individual mobility.”

The Piaggio MP3 will be available in two engine displacements, 250 and 400 cc.
